Interactive Media
Experience: Wishingtooth.
MARKET CONTEXT
Wishingtooth had invested $12 million in developing a richly detailed children’s universe centred around a “super book,” an interactive e-book designed as the entry point to a broader ecosystem of digital and physical products.
Although early MVP testing generated strong interest among parents and children, the proposition proved too complex to convert into a sustainable commercial model. When the venture could no longer continue in its original form, the challenge became how to preserve and recover value from the intellectual property, characters, stories, creative assets and product concepts already developed.
MY CONTRIBUTION
I developed an exit and asset repositioning strategy designed to preserve the value of the work already created rather than allowing it to disappear with the business.
I reframed Wishingtooth as an established children’s intellectual property universe that could be acquired, licensed or adapted by companies operating in film, animation, publishing, gaming or family entertainment. This included identifying the most transferable assets, clarifying their potential applications and developing a commercial narrative for prospective strategic buyers.
